Adding your API keys
Ayumitra works fully on your phone without any keys. Keys are optional: one turns on web search for general questions, the others let you use a cloud model of your choice.
Which key do you need?
Turn on web search with Brave Search or Tavily
With a key for Brave Search or Tavily, Ayumitra can look up general health information online, such as “what is ferritin”. Only general, public questions are sent. Your reports, names and conversations stay on your phone. Web search doesn’t need cloud AI.

Get a key
Either one works. For Brave Search, sign up for the Brave Search API, choose a plan and copy your key from the dashboard. For Tavily, sign up at app.tavily.com, which has a free plan, and copy your key. Tavily says it may keep the questions it receives to improve its search.

Open Looking things up
In Ayumitra, open Settings and find Looking things up. Tap Add next to Brave Search or Tavily.

Paste and save
Paste the key into API key and tap Save key. You’ll see “Tavily key saved. Web search uses it now.”

Check it’s on
It now says On · searches with your Tavily key (or your Brave Search key). Ayumitra searches on its own when a question needs it. With both keys saved, the one saved last searches; tap the circle beside the other to switch.

Use a cloud model of your choice
By default, every answer and every report is handled on your phone. If you’d like a larger model, add a key from OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter. Cloud stays off until you turn it on.

Open Cloud AI
Open Settings, then Cloud AI.

Save the key
Choose the company, tap Add key, paste the key and tap Save key. Saving a key sends nothing and turns nothing on.

Read the agreement
Tap Read the agreement and turn on. Cloud AI turns on only once you agree; it covers each company, and a free model asks for one more agreement first.

Pick your model
In a chat, tap On this phone · Gemma 4 at the top and pick your cloud model. For reports, pick it under Read reports and photos with when you add one. You can switch back at any time.
Replace or remove a key
A saved key shows Saved on this phone, with Replace to paste a new one and Remove. AI companies’ keys are in Settings › Cloud AI; removing one takes chat and reading back to this phone. Brave Search and Tavily are under Settings › Looking things up; removing the one in use hands searching to the other, and removing both turns web search off.
Questions
Do I need any key to use Ayumitra?
No. Reading reports, search, answers, medicines and vaccines all work on your phone without a key.
Does saving a key send my health data anywhere?
No. Saving a key sends nothing. Data is only sent when you choose a cloud model, after a one-time notice, or when web search sends a general question.
Who do I pay?
The provider whose key you use, on their pricing. Ayumitra doesn’t add a charge.
Something isn’t working
Check the key was copied in full, and that your provider account has an active plan or credit. If a cloud request fails, Ayumitra stops and tells you; it never switches provider by itself.
